Terms of Service

Clear responsibilities for the software, the artist, and the client.

Effective September 29, 2026. These terms are between you and Dustin Camp, operator of The Shop Door (“we,” “us,” or “the platform”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Read our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

What the platform provides

The Shop Door is software for artist discovery, communications, booking, and business organization. It may facilitate introductions and records for a marketplace of independent tattoo services. We are not the tattoo provider, an employer of participating artists, a healthcare provider, a financial adviser, an insurer, a bank, or an escrow service. An artist listing, booking status, payment marker, or membership does not certify licensing, identity, skill, health standards, or trustworthiness. A request does not guarantee an appointment.

Independent tattoo services

The tattoo-service agreement is between the client and the independent artist or shop. Artists are responsible for their licenses, permits, legal eligibility, age and identity checks, informed consent, hygiene, equipment, design permissions, pricing disclosures, service delivery, aftercare instructions, and records required by law. Clients must verify the provider, understand the service and policies, provide accurate relevant information directly to the artist, and follow appropriate professional advice.

Artists are responsible for tattoo quality, design execution, placement, results, healing, touch-ups, and service-related claims. Tattooing can involve infection, allergic reactions, scarring, dissatisfaction, and other risks; the app does not diagnose, treat, or guarantee a safe or satisfactory outcome. Seek a qualified medical professional for medical concerns and emergency services for urgent danger. These terms do not replace the artist’s informed-consent process.

Money, deposits, and disputes

Artists set and communicate tattoo prices, deposits, cancellation and rescheduling policies, refunds, and payment arrangements. Confirm those terms and the recipient before paying. Payment-status labels and revenue summaries are organizational records, not audited accounting, a bank balance, or a promise that funds have cleared. Manual Cash App, Zelle, cash, or other payment entries depend on independent verification. We do not hold or insure tattoo deposits.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for tattoo-service pricing disputes, forfeited or disputed deposits, scams or fraud by users, cancellations, no-shows, chargebacks, lost revenue, user conduct, or the acts, outages, fees, security incidents, payment decisions, or refund decisions of third-party payment providers. Raise a tattoo-service dispute with the artist and relevant payment provider; report suspected misconduct to Support. We may assist with platform records or safety review but do not guarantee mediation, recovery of money, reimbursement, or a particular result. Nothing here removes a duty or liability that law places on us for our own conduct.

Artist Membership and billing

Client access is free. Artist Membership offers the same artist workspace on monthly, three-month, or annual billing cadences where available. A membership bought on the website or through Apple is tied to the same Project Nomad account and may unlock Artist access across supported platforms. Creating an account does not itself authorize a charge. Complimentary access does not automatically become a paid subscription.

Web memberships are billed by Stripe and renew on the cadence shown at checkout until canceled. Manage or cancel a web membership through the Manage Membership control; cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves access through the paid period. Apple subscriptions are charged to your Apple account when confirmed and are managed through Apple. Signing out, deleting the app, or removing only an Artist workspace does not cancel membership billing. Full Project Nomad account deletion attempts to cancel an active Nomad Web membership before the account is removed; Apple-billed subscriptions must still be canceled through Apple.

Use Restore Purchases for Apple-billed membership with the purchasing Apple account. Refund requests for Apple-billed purchases go through Apple; web-billed membership questions and refund requests go through Support and Stripe records, subject to applicable law. Tattoo-service payments are separate. Read Subscriptions & refunds. Apple's standard software license agreement applies to the iOS app where applicable; these service terms govern the platform relationship and do not override Apple’s mandatory terms. Apple does not provide or take responsibility for tattoo services or our support obligations.

Accounts, eligibility, and acceptable use

You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these terms. Use accurate information, keep credentials private, and promptly report unauthorized access. Do not impersonate others, harass, threaten, discriminate unlawfully, exploit minors, promote illegal activity, commit fraud, send spam, scrape private information, bypass access controls, or interfere with the service. Do not post unlawful, sexually exploitative, hateful, or gratuitously violent content. Tattoo artwork must comply with the Community Guidelines.

Your content and reporting

You keep ownership of your content and grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display to your chosen audience, transmit, and technically adapt it as necessary to operate the service and handle safety or legal obligations. This is not a transfer of ownership or permission to sell your artwork. You must have rights and necessary consent for all uploaded artwork, photos, and likenesses. The license ends when content is removed, except for permitted retention, backups, and copies already shared with others.

Use Report or Block in a project or conversation for participant conduct. Use Report Content on public artist profiles, Flash, Portfolio, or Project Stories to send the exact public item to platform review; copyright and other concerns may also be sent through Support. We may review reports, restrict accounts, or remove content for violations or legal requirements. No screening or reporting system guarantees detection of all misconduct. Do not use reports to harass or retaliate. You may ask Support to review a moderation decision.

Availability, removal, and termination

We may update features, interrupt service for maintenance, and restrict accounts for misuse, security, or legal reasons, subject to applicable law and purchased-service obligations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, delivery of every notification, business success, bookings, revenue, or permanent storage. Keep independent copies of essential booking, consent, tax, and payment records. Report problems so we can investigate.

You can delete your account in the app. Full deletion removes connected shared project history from both participants’ app views. Removing only the Artist workspace preserves the Client identity and may retain historical project records. See Account deletion. Existing financial obligations and independent providers’ records do not disappear because an account is removed.

Warranties and limits of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant independent artists’ services, tattoo quality or results, medical outcomes, user statements, or financial outcomes.

To the extent permitted by law, Dustin Camp and the platform are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from use of the platform. Where legally permitted, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the software service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the fees you paid for the platform during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits apply only where enforceable. They do not exclude fraud or willful misconduct by us, gross negligence where it cannot lawfully be excluded, death or personal injury caused by our negligence where protected by law, mandatory consumer guarantees, privacy rights, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited. Local law may give you additional rights. Nothing prohibits a lawful complaint, chargeback, regulator report, or court claim.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel with notice and consent where required. Changes do not retroactively erase accrued rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms apply to the extent lawful. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive class actions. Contact Dustin Camp through Support regarding these terms or a dispute.
